About Us

Meet the Founder

I always had to choose.

The dresses I loved were made in fabrics I couldn't wear all day. Everything breathable came in the same three silhouettes. Beautiful or comfortable, never both.

So we set out to build what didn't exist. We thought design would be the hard part. In reality, it was the fabric.

We were sold what looked and felt like linen. But the fabric manufacturer kept pushing it, dropping the price each time we paused. Real linen doesn't get cheaper the more you ask. So we sent it to a lab. The report came back: it was mixed with polyester. Plastic, sold as a plant.

That's when it clicked. The market runs on fabrics that look real but are not and sold by people counting on you not to check. Almost no one does. If we couldn't trust what came into our own studio, we couldn't ask you to trust what you wore.

So we slowed down. We looked for fabric we could fully trust, and found vendors with certified fabrics, including GOTS-certified organic cotton. We experimented with the right combinations of linen, organic cotton and modal until we got exactly what we wanted. Some pieces needed structure, others fall and flow. Most samples never left the studio. We started over until the fabric felt as right as the design looked.

Dressed by Earth is built on two promises: you should never have to choose between comfort and design, and you should never have to wonder what you're wearing.

That's the whole point.
